SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 5

Requesting the Division of Highways to name the bridge that crosses
Paint Creek at mile post 74.6 on the West Virginia Turnpike
the "Miller and Brogan Memorial Bridge".
Whereas, On July 7, 1979, Bobby Lee Miller and Homer Ray
Brogan, two West Virginia Turnpike employees, were killed while
performing maintenance work on the bridge near the old Memorial
Tunnel; and
Whereas, To memorialize these two individuals who lost their
lives while in the service of the state, it is fitting to name the
bridge, upon which both lost their lives, in their honor;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Division of Highways name the bridge that crosses
Paint Creek at mile post 74.6 on the West Virginia Turnpike the
"Miller and Brogan Memorial Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the Senate is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the families of
Bobby Lee Miller and Homer Ray Brogan, the Commissioner of the
Division of Highways, the Secretary of the Department of
Transportation and the Governor.
